Camilo Pinto proviene de una familia de artistas que inevitablemente influyeron en su sensibilidad creativa. Desde muy joven, empezó a pintar y esculpir obras que pronto se convirtieron en fruto de admiración por parte de expertos y otros artistas. Estudió Arte en la Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Historia del Arte en la Universidad Externado de Colombia y Diseño de Moda en La Salle College, experiencias que alternó con múltiples exposiciones en Colombia, en galerías como La Pared, Casa Cuadrada, La Cometa, Fenalco, Skandia, El Gato Gallery, beatBop, Museo La Presentación, entre otras. En el exterior ha expuesto en Panamá, Costa Rica, Republica Dominicana, Nueva York, Mimi, Londres, Tokyo, donde su obra sigue proyectándose internacionalmente. En 2012 ganó el primer puesto en la "Bienal internacional de arte SUBA", realizada en Colombia, con su obra "Mujer mirando hacia abajo" la cual se llevó los honores de la crítica, el público y los jurados. La obra de Camilo Pinto es realizada minuciosamente y está cargada de contenido plástico y estético. A través de ella podemos partir de una mirada para descubrir espacios en los que tomamos parte activa, física y emocionalmente. Forma parte de nuestra cotidianidad, es nuestro polo a tierra. Es aquí en este espacio metafórico en donde encontramos la posibilidad de relacionar y crear historias, ampliar visiones, creando códigos que de cierta manera son un recreo mental: en algún lugar, en algún recuerdo, en un momento o en un sueño. En un espacio para pensar, son líneas para escribir mil historias. Son todo un camino por recorrer a partir de la posición sutil y seductora de una imagen.

Camilo Pinto's work is meticulously done and is loaded with plastic and aesthetic content. Through it we can start from a look to discover spaces in which we take an active part, physically and emotionally. It is part of our daily life, it is our ground pole. It is here in this metaphorical space where we find the possibility of relating and creating stories, broadening visions, and creating codes that in a certain way are a mental recreation: somewhere, in some memory, in a moment, or in a dream. La presencia de la vaca en mi mundo creativo y original nace del subconsciente, de las memorias de mi infancia y las fantasías de adulto.De niño fui vaquero. Vaquero de verdad por una corta temporada. Mis padres me regalaron de cumpleaños como si fuera un peluche grande, una ternera recién nacida.Tuve que cuidarla. llevarla a pastar, a pasear y conversar con ella. Le di un nombre y le asigné un lugar para dormir. Esta vacuna vino a llenar un espacio de mi escasa existencia que no tenía. Si estaba en el colegio, si jugaba al fútbol si llovía, si hacía sol pensaba en la vacuna. Es decir, ocupo el universo de un niño que no quiere responsabilidades y menos cuando me daba cuenta que cada día crecía mucho. Esta vivencia refleja en mi toda una concepción y representación realista dentro de mi proyecto pictórico. Primero entendiendo de una manera racional, cuánta vida y cuánta importancia representa dentro de los seres humanos este animal con tanta alma. Su espectacular anatomía , Su deliciosa carne, la leche y sus derivados. Por otro lado nos enfrentamos al tema ambiental. Cuánta agua, cuánta energía, cuanto espacio deforestado necesita esta industria para suplir nuestras necesidades; y cual es nuestro aporte para enfrentar una realidad que nos esta afectando y de la cual no somos conscientes. Como artista y desde el arte pretendo lograr conciencia, respeto y empatía hacia los animales.Teniendo en cuenta esta silenciosa reflexión y en el constante desarrollo de dibujos y bocetos, emerge de mi inconsciente este maravilloso animal, La Vaca. Figura de gran definición y expresión , caricaturesca, plácida, alegre, descompuesta, colorida, cuya interpretación plástica me genera todo tipo de ideas sobre la expresión y el gesto, el color y la textura y sin dejar escapar ningún detalle de su fabulosa anatomía y su intención expresiva, plasmo con mucha pasión una especie de simbiosis : animal-humano. Este acto por si solo desentraña mis fantasmas.
The presence of the cow in my creative and original world is born from the subconscious, from my childhood memories and adult fantasies. As a child I was a cowboy. Real cowboy for a short time. My parents gave me a birthday present like a big stuffed animal, a newborn calf. I had to take care of her. take her to graze, walk and talk with her. I gave him a name and assigned him a place to sleep. This vaccine came to fill a space of my scarce existence that I did not have. If I was at school, if I played soccer, if it rained, if it was sunny, I thought about the vaccine. That is to say, I occupy the universe of a child who does not want responsibilities and less when I realized that every day he grew a lot. This experience reflects in me a whole conception and realistic representation within my pictorial project. First understanding in a rational way, how much life and how much importance this animal with so much soul represents within human beings. Its spectacular anatomy, its delicious meat, milk and its derivatives. On the other hand we face the environmental issue. How much water, how much energy, how much deforested space does this industry need to meet our needs; and what is our contribution to face a reality that is affecting us and of which we are not aware. As an artist and from art I intend to achieve awareness, respect and empathy towards animals. Taking into account this silent reflection and in the constant development of drawings and sketches, this wonderful animal, The Cow, emerges from my unconscious. Figure of great definition and expression, cartoonish, placid, happy, broken, colorful, whose plastic interpretation generates all kinds of ideas about expression and gesture, color and texture and without letting any detail of its fabulous anatomy and its expressive intention, I capture with great passion a kind of symbiosis: animal-human. This act alone unravels my ghosts.
